Music & movement play in North Shields

Cocoon began as a tiny pilot project. Our ambitions are huge.

A music and movement playspace for one family at a time: babies and young children under three, and the grown-ups who love them.

A grinning toddler crawls out of the red and blue play tent at Cocoon, with his mam Megan, Cocoon's co-director, lying in the tent behind him.

Watercolour and ink sketch: a small boy in green walks ahead holding a blue ukulele, Kate follows playing the flute, and Megan walks at the back, all in step, above a strip of coloured floor tiles.

“Parade”

M, two years old, leads the parade, ukulele in hand. Kate plays flute behind him; his mammy Megan, Cocoon’s co-director, follows at the back.

Two adults playing the exact same way as M, stopping when he stops, starting when he starts. This is the whole of Cocoon in one moment.
